It counts the number of starting attempts made by the engine and energises an alarm relay output after the final attempt has been completed, so that operators are alerted when the set has failed to start after the programmed number of tries. The number of permitted attempts is factory set to three attempts. Each attempt is timed, and if the engine does not start within the programmed window the counter advances and the next attempt begins. When the final attempt has been made without a successful start, the alarm output relay, rated at 8A, energises and the bi-colour LED indicates the relay status clearly. The B8MAT is supplied as an 8/11-pin plug-in relay, making it a direct replacement on generator control panels that use socket-mounted relays.
